My goal is to inspire and empower as many people as I can to make sound financial decisions by educating them. To do this I thought I would take advantage of various social media outlets to get my message across. One of those being my blog.
Until last December, I didn’t have any social media accounts, to be honest I didn’t know enough about them and I was too ignorant to learn how to use them. I gave myself every excuse under the sun to not set up any social media accounts and my joke about still having an active MySpace account was getting old. Then I heard a statement which made me wake up to myself, the statement was ‘innovate or die’ and it rang true to me around social media. Think Blockbuster Video, Civic Video, Videoezy or even Borders bookstores. Where are they now?
All these companies lacked innovation and failed to see how technology was going to overtake them and overtake them it did. It basically wiped them out of business.
Since then I have set up Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Snapchat and Tinder…only joking. I didn’t set up Snapchat.
So I made a decision. To be a business that innovates. I’ve decided to get out of my comfort zone and broadcast myself to my audience via the various media outlets. Media has changed quite rapidly over the last 10 years. Many years ago, you would need to spend the big bucks to come up with a television commercial or a newspaper advertisement to reach your audience in the masses. Today, we can broadcast to the whole world from our phone. Live. There is no middleman. Reaching out to anyone or anywhere in the world is instant.
Why am I telling you all this? Well, I have taken the plunge and will be broadcasting more often via social media to reach my audience. I will be posting on Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Linkedin and my website
So look out for my posts and videos, they won’t be pretty to start off with, however I can assure you that, with your feedback they will get better over time.
